mandate

The Media Arts Network of Ontario/Réseau des arts mediatiques de l’Ontario (MANO/RAMO) is a provincial arts service organization that provides communication, advocacy, networking and educational opportunities to Ontario-based independent media arts organizations and collectives (production centres, distributors, festivals and exhibitors in film, video and new media.) Operating as a provincial counterpart to the Independent Media Arts Alliance (IMAA), MANO/RAMO is an arms-length organization whose mandate is to develop and foster a unified and responsive provincial voice for Ontario media arts organizations and the independent artists they represent. Our goal is to improve the working and living conditions for Ontario artists through specific programming activities and advocacy initiatives at the provincial level.  The media arts sector is a vital contributor to the vigorous economy and culture here in Ontario and MANO/RAMO is committed to garnering greater support and profile for the sector in the province’s cultural policy.
