MANO/RAMO at the Bay Street Festival in Thunder Bay

MANO/RAMO will be in Thun­der Bay to par­tic­i­pate in the 10th edi­tion of the Bay Street Film Fes­ti­val run­ning from Sep­tem­ber 3–7, 2014. We will be host­ing a Region­al Meet­ing with arts orga­ni­za­tions and artists in North­ern Ontario as well as a work­shop on Basic Book­keep­ing and Project Man­age­ment for Media Artists and Emerg­ing Organizations.

BASIC BOOKKEEPING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR MEDIA ARTISTS AND EMERGING ORGANIZATIONS

This work­shop, deliv­ered by the Media Arts Net­work of Ontario / Réseau des arts medi­a­tiques de l’Ontario (MANO/RAMO) will give you the resources to finan­cially man­age your artis­tic projects.

Basic book­keep­ing tools and tips will enable you to keep orga­nized and pro­duce records for grant report­ing and finan­cial con­trol. The finan­cial sec­tion will be fol­lowed by a ses­sion focused on project man­age­ment for effec­tive plan­ning, exe­cu­tion and report­ing with an overview of pub­lic sec­tor grant writing.

MANO/RAMO will be host­ing a region­al con­sul­ta­tion with artists and orga­ni­za­tions in north­west­ern Ontario towards cre­at­ing a sur­vey of activ­ity in the region and devel­op­ing ini­tia­tives to sup­port the pro­duc­tion, exhi­bi­tion and dis­tri­b­u­tion of media art. If you rep­re­sent a col­lec­tive, orga­ni­za­tion or are a work­ing artist this is an impor­tant oppor­tu­nity to dis­cuss your projects and what they need for success.
