MANO/RAMO is the leading network for advocacy and support of media arts-centred organizations throughout the Province of Ontario.
MANO/RAMO strives to create cross-sectorial development, mutual aid, and a world that respects artists.
We are committed to creating connections between artistic disciplines as well as larger social issues as they relate to independent artistic expression. MANO/RAMO is committed to an anti-oppression framework; we are a leader within the greater arts and culture ecology around issues of inclusion, equity and accessibility.
MANO/RAMO’s mandate is informed by the belief that community engagement with independent artistic practices improves quality of life by promoting cultural understanding and respect at all levels of society:
-To create opportunities for collaborative exchange and knowledge sharing among emerging, mid-level and experiences media arts-centred organizations, collectives and other artist-driven projects;
-To respond to the needs of the Ontario media arts-centred communities with advocacy and action-based initiatives;
-To garner greater support and profile for the independent arts sector in the provincial and federal cultural policies;
-To support infrastructure, governance and organizational development for media arts-centred organizations; and
-To advocate for better living conditions for artists.
