Dames Making Games was founded in 2012 to meet a demonstrated need for more inclusive access to independent videogame arts and culture by providing work space and resources to artists working in the medium–especially those who are rarely afforded support in tech and games spaces.
We highlight the stories of diverse gamemakers through our speaker series, workshops and round-table events; demonstrate the value and impact of diversity by cataloging, exhibiting and distributing members’ work; and support production practices through equipment loaning, partnerships and new software development.
