The Independent Filmmakers Co-operative of Ottawa Inc. (IFCO) is a centre for artists who express their ideas, values and experiences using the medium of film. IFCO provides, on a co-operative basis; access to training, facilities, equipment, funding, information resources and means to exhibit work. IFCO aims to encourage a critical discourse in and an historical appreciation of Super 8/16mm & 35mm film, and to develop, support and sustain an innovative and diverse Ottawa-based community of filmmakers. The Co-operative has supported the creation of well over 400 independent Super 8, 16mm or 35mm short film productions by its members. IFCO provides access to training programs (both introductory and advanced), film production equipment rentals, screening opportunities, on-site facilities, production grants (for both emerging and senior-level artists), and artistic creation programs.
