Blurring the Boundaries

Blurring the Boundaries represents a cross-disciplinary collaboration between Gift
Tshuma, Joel Daze and VibraFusionLab. BtB focuses on creating access and
opportunity through community, design, and the arts. The organization has been
developing custom software and hardware resources over the last few years,
including a selection of artist toolkits to develop open-source instruments and
sound art pieces.

Gift Tshuma, born in Zimbabwe, doesn’t self-identify as your ordinary R&B Gospel
singer.  Gift is the co- founder and leader of his ensemble: United Tribulation Choir,
which he founded twelve years ago.  He is a strong supporter of diversity, and he
extends his reach by singing in multiple languages and performing in a broad array
of styles including beatboxing and live looping.

Joël Dazé is a bilingual Composer/ Musician; Adaptive Music Specialist and a
Production Manager and self-identifies as living with near total blindness and as a
neurodiverse individual living with synaesthesia.

Our key partners and collaborators have included: Drake
Music (UK),  MilieuxMake/Education Makers  (QC), Propeller Dance (ON) and CAMiN
(Canadian Accessible Musical Instruments Network).
