This work­shop on gov­er­nance prac­tices is offered to build capac­ity for board chairs and co-chairs of non-prof­it media arts orga­ni­za­tions. The roles and respon­si­bil­i­ties of boards of direc­tors in media arts orga­ni­za­tions are a cru­cial com­po­nent to ensur­ing trans­parency and sup­port with­in the sector.

In this work­shop vol­un­teer board mem­bers (the focus will be on board exec­u­tives) will be pro­vided with infor­ma­tion on devel­op­ment and recruit­ment, suc­ces­sion plan­ning, strate­gic plan­ning, lead­er­ship with­in vol­un­teer boards, rep­re­sent­ing mem­ber­ships, and work­ing with staff.

This 3‑hour class will be offered in per­son in Toron­to and by video/teleconference for those unable to attend in person.
