Presented by MANO/RAMO in collaboration with the Commons Studio and the Ontario Arts Council
Tuesday, May 30, 2017
7 PM
Commons Studio, 256 King Street
The Media Arts Network of Ontario/Réseau des arts médiatiques de l’Ontario is calling on all cultural workers and artists engaged with media arts (film/video/new media/games/sound/etc.) in Waterloo Region, Wellington County and surrounding areas to gather for an informal discussion at the new Commons Studio facility on Tuesday May 30th. This round-table follows on a series of meetings held across Ontario by MANO on a rotating basis. We would like to meet and discuss the region’s challenges, the current opportunities available and the possibilities for future opportunities and collaborations.
Special guest Mark Haslam, Media Arts Officer at the Ontario Arts Council, will be in attendance.
Some of the subjects we will explore are: Are our local granting opportunities conducive for individual artists or do they favour organizations/centres/collectives? How to bridge collaborations between the universities/institutions and the greater community? How can we bring
more equity and inclusiveness to our region’s activities?
Let’s connect, discuss and start the change. Everyone is welcome, so please help us spread the word through your networks.
Refreshments will be provided.
