MANO ONCA By-Laws and Governance Workshops/Consultations

In this series of work­shops and con­sul­ta­tions across the province Jer­ry Smith (First Stage) will be lead­ing a dis­cus­sion for arts man­agers and board mem­bers to under­stand updat­ing by-laws to com­ply with the forth-com­ing Ontario Not-for-prof­it Cor­po­ra­tions Act. In addi­tion to offer­ing advice on com­pli­ance and changes required in tra­di­tional artist-run orga­ni­za­tions the work­shop will serve as a con­sul­ta­tion for how media arts orga­ni­za­tion envi­sion gov­er­nance mod­els that fit their needs.

In addi­tion to pro­vid­ing orga­ni­za­tions with the tools to begin work on their by-laws and gov­er­nance now, the con­sul­ta­tion aspect will pro­vide infor­ma­tion for a series of tem­plates and guide­lines encom­pass­ing how the diverse orga­niz­ing mod­els in the media arts can reach com­pli­ance painlessly.
