Over the past weeks artists, arts orga­ni­za­tions, and col­lec­tives have shared in the com­plex and chal­leng­ing expe­ri­ence of grap­pling with the effects of the COVID-19 pan­dem­ic. As shut­downs of arts venues, stu­dios, and pro­duc­tions are extend­ed through the next months to help pre­vent com­mu­ni­ty trans­mis­sion it is impor­tant to ensure access to infor­ma­tion and sup­port for all types of non-prof­it and col­lec­tive struc­tures that make up the media arts and artist-run sectors.

Fol­low­ing from MANO’s ongo­ing com­mu­ni­ty round­ta­bles and con­ver­sa­tions, this dis­cus­sion held in part­ner­ship with CDCC will pro­vide an oppor­tu­ni­ty to check-in, share infor­ma­tion, and build mutu­al aid net­works. This meet­ing will also serve as a launch­ing point for ongo­ing advo­ca­cy that address­es the needs of groups with­out core or oper­a­tions fund­ing at arts coun­cils, who may be falling through the cracks with respect to aid mea­sures cur­rent­ly being put forward
